Jörg was here and needed to go on a hike. We selected the Kliprivierberg Nature Reserve, that is in the south of Jo'burg. It was Jörg, Jenny and me. We selected a route that took us over the river near Melville on the west side of the stream. Observing Dassies that were very friendly, the bush and grass were very green, a pleasure to walk through. Crossing back over the stream using the bridge of the sewage pipe and going further south we got to the Marais homestead. This goes back to the early occupation long before Johannesburg was established, it is estimated to be about 1850.
Using a loop over to the east got us back to the parking area. It was a very pleasant hike.
